Armenia is interested in expanding cooperation with Singapore, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said at a meeting in Davos with Singapore’s Deputy Prime Minister Tharman Shanmugaratnam.
Nikol Pashinyan said Singapore’s experience could be exemplary for Armenia.
The Prime Minister attached importance to the deepening of economic ties, consistent development of trade-economic relations and cooperation between businessmen.
The interlocutors discussed the perspectives of exporting Armenian goods, namely brandy, wine, beer, juice and other manufactured goods, to Singapore.
Tharman Shanmugaratnam noted that his country’s government also gives importance to the development of cooperation with Armenia, taking into consideration the recent positive developments in the country.
Mr. Shanmugaratnam added that Armenians are known as exemplary citizens in Singapore and enjoy a high reputation among the local population.
The Deputy PM pledged to brief his country’s businessmen on the investment opportunities of Armenia. He hailed the Armenian government’s fight against corruption and the programs aimed at modernization of the governance system.
Nikol Pashinyan said Armenia will host a world IT congress in October and attached importance to the participation of Singapore companies in the event.
The parties discussed the implementation of concrete programs in the fields of tourism, environmental protection and aviation.
