Member of the Supreme Judicial Council, acting President of the Council Gevorg Danielyan has announced his resignation.
Writing on Facebook, Danielyan said he decision was no surprise to the Council.
“I find it necessary to give an opportunity for the Supreme Judicial Council to undertake judiciary reforms with an updated and truly trust-inspiring staff,” he said.
Gevorg Danielyan wished success to the Council and representatives of the judiciary authorities.
He pledged to continue supporting the Judicial Council, his skilled and honest colleagues within the framework of his “modest capacities,” to ensure that the reforms pass exceptionally in full compliance with the Constitution and international commitments.
Gevorg Danielyan said he will be engaged in scientific activity and may even provide legal assistance.
